NICE International health partnerships scheme

In Spring 2012 NICE International was successful in gaining funding from the health partnerships scheme. The funding stream lasts for three years and will be used for projects to provide advice on the processes and methods of using evidence to inform policy in low-income and middle-income countries.

The focus will be primarily on developing capacity in India and China; and the generation of wider global public goods which can be shared with other countries including Uganda and Afghanistan.

Work streams

1. India - Helping to develop measures to reduce maternal mortality in conjunction with the government of Kerala, as well as exploring and strengthening links with national level organisations.

2. China - Supporting the development of a dedicated institution for evidence-informed policy development.

3. Monitoring and evaluation - Monitoring and evaluation of the impact of the project.
