Benefits of implementation

Patient and public activities to support the use of NICE guidance - June 2009

Many patient, carer and voluntary organisations are actively promoting and supporting the implementation of NICE guidance. Their activities range from awareness-raising campaigns and promotional activities through to providing direct funding to support implementation and training and support to health professionals. A collection of examples of these activities is now available in the form of an Excel spreadsheet which will updated regularly. Please contact the Patient and Public Involvement Programme to alert them to any additional activities which could be included in the next version.

A new Shared Learning Award has been established to celebrate the best submissions to the NICE shared learning database, for projects designed to support the implementation of NICE guidance. Shortlisting for the award and its presentation will form one of the highlights of the NICE annual conference in December.  Patient organisations that are actively supporting and promoting NICE guidance are encouraged to submit details of their projects for the award
