Centre for Guidelines (CfG)
Develops guidance on:
- the promotion of good health
- the prevention of ill health
- the appropriate treatment and care for people with specific diseases and conditions
- social care and service delivery.

Responsible for:
- clinical guidelines
- public health guidelines
- social care guidelines.
Centre for Health Technology Evaluation (CHTE)
Develops guidance on the use of new and existing treatments within the NHS, such as medicines, medical technologies and surgical procedures.
Responsible for:
Clinical directorate
The Clinical Directorate was established in April 2023 with a clear aim of providing end-to-end clinical oversight and support to all areas of the organisation.
Responsible for:
- prioritising our guidance topics
- incorporating our TAs into guidelines - bringing our guidance together by topic
- providing clinical advice and expertise to the wider organisation
- supporting our medicines and prescribing associates.
Impact and Partnerships directorate
Delivers our implementation strategy, drives and enables the effective and appropriate use of all of our guidance and advice, and supports the engagement of patients and the public.
Responsible for:
- supporting our strategic engagement with key external organisations
- people and communities involvement and engagement
- implementation and insight
- updating and maintaining our online guidance
- improving the experience of people using our guidance
- increasing uptake of our guidance
- reviewing the impact of our guidance.
Science, Evidence and Analytics Directorate
Brings together the latest thinking and practice on using science, evidence and data to deliver our work.
Responsible for:
- science policy and research
- EUnetHTA and international collaboration
- special scientific projects
- research recommendations
- information services
- evidence services
- UK PharmaScan
- intellectual property and reuse of NICE content
- data and analytics.
Digital, Information and Technology Directorate
Responsible for the provision and upkeep of the technology and infrastructure needed to carry out our work.
Responsible for:
- managing our IT operations and infrastructure
- the design, build and maintenance of our digital services
- developing and maintaining our guidance production systems
- data management and information architecture
- cyber security.
Communications Directorate
Raises awareness of our work.
Responsible for:
- the publication and dissemination of NICE guidance
- maintaining and updating the NICE corporate website
- press and public enquiries
- social media, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram
- YouTube videos
- events
- insight community.
Finance, Corporate and Commercial Directorate
Responsible for:
- business planning
- finance
- corporate governance.
People and Places Directorate
Responsible for:
- human resources
- estates and facilities.
