Reason for decision | Anticipate the topic will be of importance to patients, carers, professionals, commissioners and the health of the public to ensure clinical benefit is realised, inequalities in use addressed, and help them make the best use of NHS resources |
Further information | This topic has been identified by the NICE-NHS England Prioritisation Subgroup as a clinical area of high priority to address the barriers of access for people requiring cardiac rehabilitation services. Digitally enabled cardiac rehabilitation is aligned to the NHS long-term plan and other national strategic priority areas such as the major conditions strategy. This has also been informed by extensive engagement with clinical experts at a national and local level, commissioners and policy professionals. NHS Long Term Plan aims to improve the proportion of patients accessing cardiac rehabilitation from the current level of 50% to 85% by 2028, which will be amongst the best in Europe. |
