NICE has assessed the LightCycler SeptiFast Test MGRADE, SepsiTest and IRIDICA BAC BSI assay to help the NHS decide whether to use these products.
NICE did not recommend the LightCycler SeptiFast Test MGRADE, SepsiTest or IRIDICA BAC BSI assay because more evidence is needed.
These tests are designed to quickly discover bacteria and fungi that may be in the bloodstream of people who are thought to have a serious infection. They are only meant to be used with other investigations to help doctors to diagnose infection and decide which antibiotics would work against the infection.
