Current evidence on the efficacy and safety of laparoscopic cryotherapy for renal cancer is adequate to support the use of this procedure provided that normal arrangements are in place for clinical governance, consent and audit.

This procedure should only be offered after assessment by a specialist urological cancer multidisciplinary team.

NICE encourages collection and publication of data on the long-term outcomes of this procedure.
