NICE Technology Appraisal Guidance No 1 - Removal of wisdom teeth

The Institute's technology appraisal guidance on the review of wisdom teeth has become due for review. The Institute has written to all the consultees invovled in the development of the original guidance to consult on a proposal that the guidance becomes static. The majority of comments received by the Institute agreed with the proposal. After consideration of the comments received, the Institute?s Guidance Executive has decided to proceed with the proposal that the guidance becomes static. This means that the guidance will apply indefinitely, unless or until the Department of Health or Welsh Assembly Government re-submits the topic to NICE in the event that new evidence, likely to have a material effect on the guidance, becomes available.

The list of static technology appraisal guidance will be updated accordingly.
