The Institute's technology appraisal guidance on the use of inhaler systems in children under the age of 5 has become due for review. The Institute has written to all the consultees involved in the development of the original guidance to consult on a proposal that the review be rescheduled to coincide with the review of inhaler devices in older children, which is currently timetabled for April 2005. The majority of comments received by the Institute agreed with the proposal.

The decision as to whether to combine the reviews, or to run them concurrently will be taken in consultation with consultees, nearer the time.
