Coronary artery disease - drug-eluting stents: review decision - June 2014
Review of NICE Technology Appraisal Guidance No. 152; Drug-eluting stents for the treatment of coronary artery disease
The Institute was proposing that the recommendations in TA152 should be updated in two forthcoming clinical guidelines.
During consultation, the majority of comments received by the Institute agreed with the proposal put forward. After consideration of all of the comments (attached as appendix A), the Institute’s Guidance Executive has decided to proceed with the proposal.
Consequently, TA152 will be updated in two forthcoming clinical guidelines; the update of CG94 (Unstable angina and NSTEMI), and the update of CG167 (Myocardial infarction with ST-segment elevation). Once these new guidelines are published, the recommendations in TA152 will be superseded and the technology appraisal guidance will be withdrawn.
