Review of NICE Technology Appraisal Guidance No 152; drug-eluting stents for the treatment of coronary artery disease (part review of TA71)

Review Decision

The Institute was proposing that a review go ahead and be planned into the multiple technology appraisal work program. 

During consultation it was highlighted to us that the proposal might not be the best way to proceed with the review. A summary of the responses from this consultation are attached at Appendix A. After consideration of all these comments, the Institute’s Guidance Executive has decided to recommend that the decision to update the guidance should be deferred until June 2010 when the evidence will again be assessed.
