TA159 Pain (chronic neuropathic or ischaemic) - spinal cord stimulation: review update - January 2012
Review of NICE Technology Appraisal Guidance No.159; Spinal cord stimulation for chronic pain of neuropathic or ischaemic origin
Decision to defer the review
As you may be aware the planned date for review of the above guidance was November 2011. This is the date at which the Institute decides whether sufficient new evidence has emerged for the Appraisal Committee to be asked to undertake a full review appraisal.
Since the publication of TA159 there has been no new evidence that would affect the recommendations made within the guidance. Consequently we have decided to defer the consideration of the review until the end of 2013 when more evidence on the use of spinal cord stimulation for the treatment of chronic pain of ischaemia origin becomes available (RASCAL study).
