Review proposal - July 2005
The review date for the above guidance is July 2005.
At the review date, the Institute decides whether sufficient new evidence has emerged for the Appraisal Committee to be asked to undertake a full review appraisal.
The Institute has carried out a search for information relevant to this appraisal, and has found that to the best of its knowledge, no new evidence has been published that would have a material effect on the existing guidance.
Consequently the Institute proposes that the decision to review the guidance be deferred until July 2007, which coincides with the review date set for the guidance on clopidogrel for acute coronary syndromes (no.80).
At that time, the most appropriate way forward for the reviews of both pieces of guidance will be considered. This would include consideration of whether to combine the reviews, or whether to continue as two separate appraisals.
In order to be completely confident that this is appropriate, the Institute is asking all original consultees to inform it of any evidence which would suggest that an earlier review would be beneficial.
