Review of NICE Technology Appraisal Guidance No 70, the use of imatinib for chronic myeloid leukaemia

Proposal to defer the review

The Institute has carried out a search for information relevant to this appraisal, and has found that to the best of its knowledge, no new evidence has been published that would have a material effect on the original guidance.  However, we are aware of details of on-going trials which are due to complete in December 2007 and December 2008. Consequently we propose that the review of the original guidance be deferred until early 2009 to allow this research to be available to inform the review.

In order to be completely confident that this is appropriate, we are asking all original consultees and commentators, to inform us of any evidence which would suggest that a review would be beneficial.
