Review decision - November 2010
Review of NICE Technology Appraisal Guidance No. 73: Myocardial perfusion scintigraphy for the diagnosis and management of angina and myocardial infarction
The Institute was proposing that:
- section 1.2 of the guidance should be updated, for people who remain symptomatic following myocardial infarction or reperfusion interventions because of their stable angina, in the clinical guideline on stable angina that is currently in development.
- section 1.2, only in as far as it applies to those not included in the scope of the stable angina guideline, should be transferred to the ‘static guidance list’.
During consultation, the majority of comments received by the Institute agreed with the proposal put forward. After consideration of all of the comments (attached as appendix A), the Institute’s Guidance Executive has decided to proceed with the proposal and as described above section 1.2 of the guidance will be updated within the clinical guideline on 'The management of stable angina' currently in development and also transferred to become static guidance.
Topics on the static list may be transferred back to the active list for further review if new evidence becomes available that is likely to have a material effect on the last guidance issued.
