Review Decision
Review of NICE Technology Appraisal Guidance no. 92; on the use of HealOzone for the treatment of tooth decay
The Institute was proposing that the original guidance become static.
Guidance is placed on the static list when it is clear that there is no new research available that would have any material effect on the current guidance. Topics on the static list may be transferred back to the active list for further appraisal if new evidence becomes available that is likely to have a material effect on the last guidance issued.
During consultation it was highlighted to us that the proposal might not be the best way to proceed with the review. After consideration of all the comments from consultation, the Institute?s Guidance Executive has decided to recommend that the guidance should be deferred until 2013, pending publication of the results of the ongoing trial.
A summary of the responses from this consultation can be found below.
