The NICE-Wide Prioritisation Board met November 2024. The Prioritisation Board considered the technology at length. It recognised the difference in commissioning of narcolepsy pharmacological treatments between adults and children and was aware that people with narcolepsy of different ages currently were receiving pitolisant in NHS services.
The Prioritisation Board were concerned that carrying out a Technology Appraisal may create complexity for the system in terms of management of narcolepsy treatments and therefore concluded that because access exists and there was not an unmet need that it would not be a good use of NICE resources to carry out a Technology Appraisal.
