This indicator covers the proportion of women aged 53 to 70 years whose record shows a breast screening test has been performed within the last 3 years. It measures outcomes that reflect the quality of care or processes linked by evidence to improved outcomes.

Last reviewed: August 2024

We updated the indicator wording, rationale and specification sections to align with current data sources and associated definitions. OHID breast screening coverage indicator, by GP practice, covering ages 50 to 70 (ID 91339) was retired after 2021 to 2022 (as noted in update information for the cancer services profile) and replaced with indicator ID 94063, to align with national methodology. We also updated details of source guidance references.

Next review: September 2026

This indicator will be reviewed using the assessment criteria in appendix B of the NICE indicators process guide when it reaches its review date or the underlying guidance is updated.

This indicator was previously published as CCG84.
