In November 2016, NICE reviewed this guidance and recommended that it should be withdrawn. The guidance was published in June 2011 and recommended that further research was carried out on the technology. There was insufficient evidence on its use in clinical practice to recommend adoption. On reviewing the guidance in 2016, NICE determined that: The comparator in the original guidance, standard serial troponin testing, was changed in 2014 to high sensitivity troponin testing which expert advice indicated is now widespread in the NHS The clinical pathway in the original evaluation has significantly changed and the original scope is no longer valid. These changes mean that the current guidance is no longer valid and NICE would not be able to update it. The guidance has therefore been withdrawn.
