For people with unfavourable aneurysm morphology needing an endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) as a primary procedure, or for people with an existing EVAR who need a secondary procedure, evidence on the safety of using endoanchoring systems is adequate. Evidence on efficacy is limited in quantity and quality. NICE encourages further research on endovascular aneurysm sealing for abdominal aortic aneurysmthis procedure in the form of controlled clinical trials, observational studies and analysis of registry data. Details about patient selection, including anatomical details, should be clearly documented.Research should compare the procedure with conventional stent graft endovascular aneurysm repair. All complications should be reported. Long-term outcomes should be described as data become available. NICE may update the guidance on publication of further evidence.
