Zio XT (iRhythm Technologies) is an ambulatory heart monitoring service, designed to detect cardiac arrythmias in people with infrequent symptoms (every 24 hours or longer). It is comprised of the Zio Patch and the Zio Report. The Zio Patch is a self-adhesive, wireless ECG, that is applied to the left upper chest and worn continuously for 2 weeks. The wearer can go about their normal daily activities during monitoring, including showering or bathing because the device is water resistant. After the monitoring period, the Zio Patch is removed and sent to the company via prepaid post. The company analyses the ECG recordings using machine-learned algorithms and distils the results into the Zio Report which is sent electronically to the patient’s clinician.
