The procedure
In hysteroscopic metroplasty a thin tube with a camera on the end (a hysteroscope) is inserted into the vagina, through the cervix and into the womb. Instruments are passed through the hysteroscope into the womb and the septum is removed. The procedure is usually done under general or spinal anaesthetic. The aim of the procedure is to reduce the risk of miscarriage.
