The longer-term evidence on transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is from earlier generation TAVI devices and the technology is evolving. Longer-term evidence is needed and this should be taken into account by the multidisciplinary team.

TAVI offers a potential treatment for patients with aortic stenosis for whom surgical aortic valve replacement would not be suitable.
