Neuropad for detecting preclinical diabetic peripheral neuropathy

NICE has assessed Neuropad for detecting preclinical diabetic peripheral neuropathy to help the NHS decide whether to use this product.

Neuropad detects low levels of sweat production on a patient’s foot, which may indicate that they have the early stages of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. But there is not enough evidence that this is a reliable indicator. There is also no evidence to suggest that Neuropad is more effective than standard testing for diabetic peripheral neuropathy with a 10 g monofilament.
