Rationale

Source guidance
Flu vaccination: increasing uptake. NICE guideline NG103 (2018), recommendations in section 1.4
Specification
Numerator: The number of patients in the denominator who have influenza immunisation in the preceding 1 August to 31 March.
Denominator: The number of patients with coronary heart disease, stroke or transient ischemic attack, diabetes and/or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Calculation: Numerator divided by the denominator, multiplied by 100.
Exclusions: None. It should be noted that the QOF register for diabetes mellitus excludes people under 17.
Expected population size: To be suitable for use in QOF, there should be more than 20 patients eligible for inclusion in the denominator, per average practice with 10,000 patients, prior to application of personalised care adjustments. QOF data for 2022 to 2023 show that for each individual condition included in the denominator the population size would be above this threshold.
