Rationale

Pregnant women accessing antenatal care should be seen early in their pregnancy in order to determine if there is a need for additional care. It also provides the opportunity to provide information about pregnancy, including information to support informed decision making about screening tests. Accessing antenatal care early can help to improve women's experience of pregnancy and birth.
