Unmet need
Interstitial cystitis
Interstitial cystitis is a chronic condition with unknown aetiology and can have a substantial effect on a person's quality of life. Current treatments are generally aimed at controlling the symptoms. It is challenging to treat and there is an unmet need for other treatments. Bladder removal may be considered for some people when other treatment options have been ineffective. This procedure aims to offer a more effective option than bladder instillations without electrical stimulation.
Overactive bladder
OAB is a chronic condition that interferes with daily activities and can have a substantial effect on a person's quality of life and mental health. Current treatments are generally aimed at reducing the symptoms. Bladder reconstruction (such as augmentation cystoplasty) and urinary diversion may be an option when symptoms do not respond to conservative treatment. This procedure aims to offer a more effective option than bladder instillations without electrical stimulation.
